History

  1. 1961 The Kuwaiti dinar enters circulation on 1 April, replacing the rupee, under the Currency Law of 1960.
  2. 2003 The dinar is pegged to the US dollar in January.
  3. 2007 On 20 May Kuwait ends the US dollar peg and links the dinar to an undisclosed basket of currencies.
