History

  1. 1945 The CFP franc is created for France’s Pacific territories in December.
  2. 1966 The Institut d’émission d’outre-mer is created on 22 December and takes over the issue of the CFP franc.
  3. 1999 From 1 January the CFP franc is pegged to the euro at 1,000 CFP francs to 8.38 euros, about 119.33 CFP francs per euro.
