Historical cash exchange only; no interest, tax, inflation, leverage or asset returns. Costs apply on entry and exit. Home-currency cash stays unchanged with no exchange costs. Past results do not predict future returns.

How the calculation works

Each row separately exchanges the full starting amount into that currency on the first shared observation date. The chart values that holding back in your home currency on every subsequent observation date, after a hypothetical exit. It does not charge an exit fee on every day of a continuing holding.

Before costs = starting amount × historical exchange-value ratio. After costs = (starting amount − entry fee) × (1 − haircut ÷ 100)² × ratio − exit fee. Fixed fees use your selected home currency on both legs; the haircut approximates the reduction from reference rates, not the full quoted bid–ask spread. Weekend reference observations may repeat. The home-currency row is unexchanged cash, not a savings account.
