History

  1. 1867 Romania adopts a bimetallic currency with the leu as its unit under a monetary law of April 1867.
  2. 2005 The new leu replaces the old leu on 1 July at 1 new leu to 10,000 old lei, under Law No. 348 of 14 July 2004.
