  1. 1966 The Bahamian dollar replaces the Bahamian pound.
  2. 1973 A fixed parity of one Bahamian dollar to one US dollar is in place, which the central bank says has prevailed since 1973.
  3. 1974 The Central Bank of The Bahamas is established on 1 June.
